Hello, My name is Dennis Nelson and I joined up a couple weeks ago and have been reading old posts and enjoying the photos. I'm not a big card collector but I did save most of my old cards from the 69/70 OPC hockey and baseball sets upto the 90/91 sets. I do have some older cards like a couple 33/34 Canadian gum (Morenz, Hainsworth)and some 50's Parkies, nothing graded.
What I most enjoy collecting are media guides, player photos that were issued to the newspapers, Christmas cards and autographs. I started collecting these in the late 60's and got back into it when there got to be too many card sets. A lot of what I started with came from The Windsor Star newspaper where my father was a sportswriter for 35 years and I would ask him to bring home a box of things they were throwing out as birthday and Christmas presents. Photos from the late 40's to early 80's including some Turofsky Maple Leafs and signed Christmas cards from Toe Blake and Gordie Howe(Houston)and maybe 35 team issued ones. Might add some pics when I get some time.
