Although technically you are correct, the disclaimer for the ranking pages says:
"Although the idea of what makes a war movie is subjective, for the purposes of this list it will be defined as a movie that involves soldiers, fighting with military weapons or machinery, military strategy or events that directly lead up to or result from a military-type battle. "
Since Stripes involves soldiers it would technically be eligible for the list.
