First of all, your statements are slanderous. I have been a collector and a dealer for over 23 years. The jersey in question, Manny Ramirez, was purchased at the National Sports Collectors Convention last summer in Cleveland. And it was purchased with the Indians Charities COA. Instead of making SLANDEROUS statements on here do some research.
FACT, There were year 2000 jerseys sold after 2002 that included the new COA. Next, if there was something wrong with the jersey, why did you have it listed on eBay, trying to sell it yourself? Then a few days later, you e-mailed me with a complaint. And I gave you absolutely no problems with the return.
IT IS IN YOUR OPINION, that there was something wrong with it. So, because I sold one jersey in the past 15 years, that you claim is doctored, you SLANDER me on everything else? There is no dealer in this country that has not been fooled one time or another. I still do not believe that there is anything wrong with the Manny, I have compared it to other jerseys and it measures fine, but since it is in question, I will just put it in my personal collection and NEVER intend to resell it.
How many people on eBay would have given your money back without a problem?
I list my jerseys "PRIVATE" because there are too many armchair authenticators like you out there that bad mouth people without knowledge. In the past, I have had people email customers on jerseys that they have an issue with and harass my bidders, so I list my auctions as “PRIVATE” so my bidders do not get harassed.
I guarantee that every jersey that I sell will pass a third party authentication or your money back. As a dealer that is about as much as I can do. Now in the future, if you need any information on something that I am selling, please e-mail me. That is a pretty bold statement that I sell doctored jerseys as I have no prior complaints of the same nature. In fact, we talked on the telephone when you notified me of the return, and you said how you felt many people could miss your claimed “re-stitching”. I am an honorable business man, and to avoid trouble since our policy is to have items authenticated before accepting a refund, I issued a refund immediately upon return. I couldn’t find any issues with the jersey myself after return, but you have now crossed the line attacking my business.
Please make sure you can back up your general statements before putting your foot in your mouth!
Interesting... does this have the makings of another seller being lined up on the chopping block?
I'm not a baseball collector so I'll refrain from passing judgement; however, backing up your item by saying it would pass mustard with a third party authenticator is a total cop out. We all know how much some of the so-called authenticator LOA's are worth these days; either the jersey is legit, or it isn't. The proof is in the shirt, not somebody's opinion.
BTW, I don't see an extra 2" on the sleeve, do you?
It was listed as soon as the jersey was obtained without thorough investigation and removed within 1 hour of listing as it was inspected. It was an error in listing it so fast. All I know is what I received. You are correct that everyone gets fooled once in awhile. Maybe this was a one time occurence? You have also sold Russell "X-out" tags as game worn jerseys in the past which are Russell Seconds that were never worn.
If it was a one time mistake and you bought the jersey second hand I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Like I said it was a well done alteration. The tip off was the there being no extra sleeve length or extra body length. ...........We all learn from our mistakes...... As far as the Russell tags that have been marked out with a black or red line or an X those are seconds that Russell sells off as wholesale junk. You can call them in alabama to verify this. I hope this information helps for future identifying.
The Atlanta Braves will sell a few game worn jerseys each year through their foundation and have a large BA x BF written on the tags ( Braves Auction / Braves Foundation )
Some college teams will send their jerseys back to Russell after the season for a credit to their next order. Russell will then re-sell them. These usually have the marked tags.
As far as the Andruw Jones 250th HR jersey...He puts a 2 and Star of David on his favorite Gamers.
I hope this resolves our issues and gives some insight on tagging, etc..
There obviously was an issue with the Manny jersey, and I'm glad to see the seller issued a refund when the problem was brought to his attention. Is there other verifiable evidence that can be presented in this forum to back up the claim that "seller trsent sells doctored jerseys"? This is a serious claim that needs to be substantiated beyond a single jersey. I'm not defending anyone, but we need to make sure this forum doesn't digress into a witch hunt.
Authentic Gamers, Inc.
You are right...that was an error in judgement to use a blanket statement like that. I only have had one transaction ( manny ramirez jersey ) with this seller. I did follow up and say that mistakes do happen and if he purchased it sceond hand I would give him the benefit of the doubt. He should not be judged on my transaction with him but on the whole.
