Per our research, the Broncos wore Russell Athletic exclusively from Elway's rookie year (1983) through 1988 before switching to Wilson in 1989 (which they used through 1995). I've found only a couple very rare exceptions of Elway (and ONLY Elway, no other Bronco) wearing a Champion-style road white jersey in the 1985-'86 time frame and in these case, they hand custom hand-warmer packets sewn to the jerseys' front.
