Addidas TV ad in the UK

by

Addidas have a new TV campaign in the UK. The strings bit from (I think) "The Ashes, The Rain and I" is featured. Can anyone confirm this, and have they paid their dues?

How to book the gang?

by

As an ex-Clevelander whose husband lived next door to Joe Walsh at Kent State, I was happy to see the James Gang on Drew Carey. I'm now the director of a Resort Association in Colorado (near Joe's Aspen digs), and I would like to book the James Gang for our big summer festival. Our booking agent can't locate the band or find out how to book them. Anyone with any knowledge can e-mail me at marianne@glenscape.com, or else call me at 970/945-6589. I live in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
P.S. I remember when we used to book Joe for sorority and fraternity parties at Kent. His band was great, and it was called the Measles.

Joe,s manager is David Spero. See the message titled SPERO for his web address. If he doesn't handle the Gang, he probably steer you in the right direction.

Morse code messages and more....

by

Hi again, I was just wondering whether any of you realized that some of Joe's music has morse code messages within it. I was listening with the headphones on years ago, and noticed what appeared to be a morse code message. I got up, grabbed a pencil and paper and started writing down all the dots and dashes, and sure enough it was morse code!!

Also, have any of you ever read the messages engraved on the LP's surface near the center paper label? Every James Gang album has them on either side. I'm thinking they were added by Bill Scymzak(sp), but never really knew what they meant. I think some of Joe's albums have this too.

There are more, but this is all the time I have for now....

RE: Morse code messages and more....

by

One of the albums (the 1st perhaps?), also has a
little voice message in the inside groove on both sides of the album. The end of side #1 repeats "turn me over," and the end of side #2 says "play me again."

It seems that one of the other albums had something on it, but my turntable broke years ago, so I can't check.

Giant Bohemoth

by

Giant Bohemoth in morse code is supposed to say Register and Vote...i have 7 Joe LPs and most of them have something on the liner..

You Bought It, You Name it says "are we done yet?...again? and "Welcome Lucy"(his daughter's name)

There Goes The Neighborhood has "After 15 years, I still can't spell Szymcyk" and "Is it one "L" or two?"

So What has "That's no banany, that's my nose"(i like that one)

Best of Joe Walsh says, "Q- What can you do for a dog with no legs?" and then "A- take him for a drag"

But Seriously Folks has "Luncheon counter of the deli kind" and "...call it in the air"

by

Since February is a big sweeps (i.e. ratings) month, I would bet that if Joe's not on this week, it'll probably be next week. He ought to be a re-curring character...he's quite funny

Spero Connection

by

Hey Guy,

How do you communicate with Joe's manager, David Spero? Are you a friend, acquaintance or do you have an address or phone number that you can share? If he told you about Joe on Drew, did you ask him when his new CD would be released? All us Bomberheads are dying to know!!! If you haven't asked, please do us the favor and let us know.

Thanks!

Spero

by

Dave is my best friend....jk
I talk with him via the AOL instant messanger.
His e-mail is DSMINC@aol.com
You can get the IM at www.aol.com free.
His sn on AOLIM is DSMINC.
He is usually pretty good, but he won't reveal Joe's son's name (Joe requested his private life be kept silent.) Also, he only told me that so far there is no date on Joe's album.

He can be very imformative sometimes, and other times give no information at all.

Dave is cool but he can't answer every question. He must get bombarded with so many IMs every time he signs on as it is. About the album, he went back into the studio to work on it some more..

Help..."Walk Away"

by Duke Lemoyne

In the second verse, after the line, "Got myself in...," and before "when I find myself startin' to doubt ya," what is Joe saying? It sounds like something about a mess, but it's not clear to me. This is driving me loco--can anyone help? Thanks.

Walk Away Lyrics

by

Duke,

Back on 9/14/98 I posted a thread in this forum with the complete lyrics to Walk Away. If you can't get messages back to that date, here is the verse in question:

I got myself in, the worst mess I been in,
and I find myself startin' to doubt you

These lyrics are from his songbook "Look What I Did! and Then Some". You can order it through
Sheet-Music.com.

Hope this helps!

Hi, I've been a James Gang/Joe Walsh fan for a loooong time, but I don't recall an album titled "Jesse Come Home". Was that the title of an album? How did I miss that one??? Anybody happen to have a copy available?

Jesse

Jesse Come Home was the Gang's last album with new stuff on it. It features Bob Webb on guitar and vocals, Phil Giallombardo on keyboards and vocal, Jim Fox on drums, and Dale Peters on Bass and vocals. I have it on LP in excelent condition. I really like it! It was released in 1976. Hope this helps.

Joe and Glenn Hard Rock Live

by

How ya doin?
The concert last night was great. Joe and the rest of the band were really good, they never missed a beat. Joe and and some roadie guitarist worked great together playing some of the solos simultaneously. He played a cool blues intro before Funk #49. After watching him, I know the new album is going to rock. He added some really cool riffs to the solos..Great to see him wail on a guitar like that..Even his singing was great..the whole show sounded awesome..usually live shows dont sound nearly as good as the album, but this sounded good enough to be recorded..and for 600 people, we could make a lot of noise..It was also great too see some guy wrestle a woman for the drum sticks that the drummer gave to her..hope I dont have to wait another year to see him again..oh man what a good show that was...even some dude in the bathroom heard that joe was on that night and decided he would share it with me while i was at the stall..thats when you know it rocked..later

Joe's the man

by

I have an interview that Joe explains that the record companies keyed on him(Joe) because he was the known star and they felt that using Joe's name instead of the band handle would bring greater commercial success to their project and thus bring more profits for them. That's business. Joe further explains that he didn't always want to be in the spotlight. A couple of the other members got to shine when they were featured on those albums. That is how Joe said it should be, like a team.
