I’ll be sure to take more comprehensive photos during my next trip in April, but in the meantime, here’s what I have from last week’s visit to Hong Kong & China.
I met a friend at the Tapas Bar in the lobby of the Shangri La in Kowloon:
That’s Jose (Jeetan) & I:
We enjoyed a great bottle of Red wine and this plate of appetizer assorted Italian and Spanish ham:
After cocktails it was dinner at Sweet Basil Thai Cusine in Hung Hom:
We couldn’t resist to ‘ham it up’ with a wrist shot:
Next stop was outside of Ningbo, China, a small place called Xiangshan for lunch before my first meeting:
We were able to make our fish & seafood selection from the fresh tanks:
The restaurant at the Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai was established in Guangxu 26th year of Qing Dynasty (AD1900), and the steamed bun served there is well-known in the world.
Nanxiang Steamed Buns Restaurant is a great place to sample some of Shanghai's best dumplings in the centre of the famous old town.
This snack with nearly 100 years' history is famous for its thin wrap, heavy flavor, and tender meat.
People line up outside for hours at the take-out window:
Here’s the kitchen:
We waited for a table on the second floor:
This better be worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thirty-six dumplings for three of us:
Yummy, it IS worth the wait!!!!!
I hade a few more great meals but sadly no photos. Here are two of the recommended places, especially the Thai Gallery:
