So, I visited the UEFA office in Nyons, Switzerland (home to Hublot) for a two-day conference on next years Euro 2008 soccer event:
The headquarters sits right on the banks of the lake, and what a view!!!!
Heres the trophy & some info from UEFA web-site
When the draw for UEFA EURO 2008 takes place on Friday, coaches from around Europe will have their eyes on a new prize. For the first time since the Soviet Union won the inaugural UEFA European Championship in 1960, a new trophy is up for grabs. The new Henri Delaunay trophy has retained the name and style of the original, but has been brought up to date to reflect the scale and size of Europe's most prestigious national-team tournament.
While in Geneva I had another surprise meeting.
Jonas from Norway was there picking up his new Portuguese 5001 and we had a chance to get together and share drinks & cigars!!!!
Jonas, big congrats again on the 5001 & it was great to meet you!
Andy & I also got together again one more time and went to a great pizzeria. The owner sat with us and brought over his best Grappa:.
Andy, be careful pouring that:
Andys wife called and he let her speak to Tonino, the owner. It was a riot, you just had to be there!!!! LOL
I then had to travel fly to Zurich and a train ride for my next meeting:
The day after the Grand Prix in Geneva there was ads in the Financial Times:
The train ride:
Everything was delayed from the snow that day!!!
You call THIS snow????!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
Headed back late after the meeting though Zurich main train station:
If this train was speeding into the station & out of control
..I wonder how effective this barrier would be???????
Finally heading home:
Not before a few more stops:
Passing the time until heading to the gate:
This is cool!!!!
Almost time to go:
I never saw another plane THIS close before:
A little zoom:
Finally getting back!!
Thankfully the Customs Hall was not busy:
Thanks for joining me on this adventurous trip.
I had many pleasant surprises & I hope you enjoyed them all.
