Learning JKD on your own

March 25 2009 at 8:47 PM

Hello all! I was just looking around at some traditional martial arts, and came across Jeet Kune Do and it really has caught my eye. The philosophy and ranges it espouses are really what caught me. My question is this. Can I feasibly train myself in JKD by using Bruce Lee's books? I have a background in some Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Boxing and Wrestling and I really like how JKD seems to be a little bit more practical than TKD since it is not rigid in its focus. I do have a buddy who does Shaolin Kung-Fu so I would have someone to do hand to hand sparring with. Any and all responses will be much appreciated!

You might want to get some of Paul Vunak videos and train with your Shaolin friend, and also learn some Shaolin from your friend might be a good idea.............
