The lowering skies have now given way to more refreshing vistas, and some warm sunshine. The other change is a new phone, so I was compelled to conduct a test on it's suitability as an emergency cloudscape recorder.
First attempts were disappointing - until I realised it was set in macro mode. It still wouldn't focus on the clouds (scandalous!), but I cured that by using the landscape setting.
Anyway, I think it's going to be ok as emergency backup. Never go out without a camera!
Husband's dry comment as he waited for me for the umpteenth time on our walk was 'do you ever use that to actually make a call? Harrumph!
On the third photo it almost looks like the contrail goes right through the middle of a doughnut shaped cloud, but from closer inspection I think it's just the viewpoint.
The phone camera didn't manage to capture a rather nice sundog later, unfortunately.
