Hey all, the Bad Astronomer pointed out that boston.com has a great selection of cloud images taken from space at http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/06/the_sky_from_above.html

Though you guys might enjoy them

Awesome pics! Thanks for sharing the link.

Yeah I have to vouch for that. Clouds often seem prettier from above than below. Both from close up and from a long distance as different patterns appear at different scales. The wake pattern was particularly impressive. I have seen those before in satpics.

My current favourite satpic is http://www.sat24.com/frame.php?html=gb which shows an animation of the last couple of hours. You really can see the clouds move around and develop. Currently it shows wave set up from North Wales. Note how the wave bars stay still while other clouds drift downwind.

Fantastic pictures! So good that I can barely choose a favourite! Think it has to be the Cumulonimbus Cloud over Africa though!
That 'wake' cloud is incredible too! Never seen anything like it before!
I also love the night time one with just about every phenomenon possible included!!
