Seen on the BBC: Stormy Weather Forms Funnel Cloud: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/lancashire/7492301.stm

Some cool pictures also seen at: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/7492556.stm

Meanwhile some good cloudshots seen during the F1GP qualifying on Saturday. And the weather played a big part in Sunday's race, the result of which was fantastic (for me atleast as I support the winner... ).

I was watching "QI" - a great comedy "quiz" show from the BBC - and they said that a (Japanese) scientist had said that the most tornados happen in... Britain! A bit unexpected, to say the least. But most are decidedly unspectacular or even unnoticed, unlike Tornado Alley in the States where decidedly spectacular (but - apparently - fewer) tornados occur.

Not sure I'm convinced, however.

I like the meteorologist's comment in your link, Mike. If the funnel cloud had touched down it could have damaged "a tree, or a shed". Ooooh, a scary tornado - it could damage a single tree or perhaps a small garden shed!
