Totally unexpected was this recent faint 22 degree halo in stratocumulus clouds:

Very subtle AK, and I think if those clouds near the horizon had tried just a little bit harder they could have become asperatus.

Are Granny's eyes getting weird with advancing age, or else why do I keep seeing cloud waves and streaks indicating that they are intersecting at 90 degrees overhead at a distance???? This seems to be happening mlore and more! I wish I knew why. Love the halo effect. I've heard haloes and other optical phenomena are spectacular in Antarctica, so do we haver any CAS members there who can post photos to the website please? GWW

I've noticed it too, Granny. I've always assumed that the intersecting waves are at different levels. Sometimes it's obvious that they are, but other times not so much.
