Super photo, Andrew! I've just been reading up on those Foxtail Pines. Apparently some have been identified over 2000 years old and may possibly live to be up to 3000 years old. I think the oldest British species is the Yew and they can attain a similar age. According to the wiki entry, the oldest authenticated clonal tree is a Norway Spruce "Old Tjikko" in Sweden coming in at about 9500 years old, whilst the oldest single individual tree is "Methuselah", a Great Basin Bristlecone Pine at 4800 years old. I believe Methuselah maybe in your backyard Andrew, or at least Inyo County!!
