Fantastic photos there JL. Thanks for posting them. I have no right or precedent to expect to see these at my southerly Arizona location but with sightings in Arkansas ,to see them in Az is no longer out of the question. They appear to resemble cirrus very much and undulate like the best of them. Unfortunately the Monsoon season gives seldom chance to a clear sky day or night. They are fantastic and I hope you and all are very fortunate in taking photos of them. Thanks again and great luck!

Thanks Mike! Last night was a bust but in Southern-Finland people observed bright NLC's near the horizon in the morning hours before sunrise. Who knows if one day you will see them in your location. There was a time people thought these were confined to a pretty narrow band of latitude and these days they are observed way south. We also do not yet completely understand NLCs and the reasons behind their (apparently) more and more widespread occurrence.
