I see that a DVD set is coming out. Here are some details:

it will contain the three Amityville Horror movies:
The Amityville Horror
Amityville II: The Possession
Amityville 3-D

with a bonus disc called:
Amityville Confidential)

I realize they release these things to drum up publicity for the upcoming movie, but people don't fall for this! They will get your money now, then in about a year, they will release another set that includes the remake so they can get your money all over again.

Just wait and get the complete set in about a year. The industry needs to stop doing this and they will onyl continue if people keep shelling out their hard earned money for these shams.

The box set is very cheap. The documentary disc alone is worth the price of admission, and the Amityville II and 3D films are terrible, but still entertaining enough to throw on once.
I got the full box for 24 bucks.
I'd think that 24 bucks is a fair price for a super-special-collector's-edition-release of the first film... and that's certainly how I view the box set.
I've seen the remake, and I'm not sure if I really care enough to have to own it. It was fun though.
