My friend (Marc) was 12 yrs old when his brother killed him and the family. I can tell you this as the 31st anniversary approaches... it's all fake. I probably spent more days/nights in the house than the Lutz family. There is nothing... let me repeat this for you... NOTHING wrong with the house. Just a messed up son (Butch) who killed his family.

Why? In your opinion

Why do you think Marc's older brother killed his family? Did Marc ever tell you that he was afraid of Ronnie? How about his father?

What do you think of these pictures that George Lutz claims to have of ghosts in that house?

why live there

I can understand a family like the lutz family purchasing the house back in the 70's long before the movies and the hype.I cant say that for the people that bought the house after mass media attention.Lets face it there are other houses of simmilar price, simmilar style all over the US, what drives a family to buy "that house" they know what there letting themselves in for, they know they will be plagued by a morbid interest forever more, the people that should buy this house should be a family that revels in attention and loves and bathes in the morbid obssesion. Not everybody can get away with living in a house that six people were brutally murdered regardless of hauntings and happenings, there has to be an inner obsession there wether there willing to admitt it or not.

Maybe someone should buy it and open it up for tours. Run a shuttle bus from a remote lot and bring in people, charge a nice price and "play up" the house's history.

I'm sure the neighbors would hate you, but oh well.

You're missing it...

The Lutz' did not buy that on their own! It was all planned. Where they lived prior to Amityville... they could never afford to live in Amityville, not that part anyway.

most of the story and hype are all fake, but the killings arn't,and have you ever been in the house since the murders? maybe there is something in there which preys on people that are feeling low or have issues, for the majority of folks maybe nothing would happen within the house, but if your half way to depression or suiside etc then this house may bring out the worst in you.
after the murders, the house may not have been the same,i think if a new family went into any house that had six murders then they're bound to feel spooked and if your feeling in a spooked frame of mind the brain can concoct a whole load of crazy incidents and nioses. if you've just watched a horror film you always nip to the john and put every light on, any heating expansion noises or floor boards become spooky and paranormal, if you had'nt watched the horror film then you'd dismiss these happening for what they are just household noises. maybe after six murders , especially young innocent people that had a life to live and would be resentful for this young life being taken from them ,could this create a depressed curtain of resent towards a fresh young family that had moved in so quickly capitolising on a reduced house price at their misfortune.the same as the brain absorbs the highs and lows in life, the good and the bad, maybe the house has absorbed the very sad happenings in 1974 which as long as the world keeps rotating can never be rewound, its etched within the houses history.most paranormal incidents and visions occur from a bad thing that happend, unfinished business rather that a good thing that happened, maybe if you die content then theres no need to meddle with the current life.
