Duke's Store

Does anyone else think that place is the most over-hyped store in T.O. Ya there appears to be a lot of stuff on sale. But when you look around at other store you'll realize that Duke's "sale" prices are just everyone else's reg. prices. Seems like a rip-off to me.

You have to remember that Duke's is a source for sports store - part of a chain and therefore has to hold the line on prices because it's dictated to them by head office and the suppliers. If you want a deal, you need to go to independents because they need to compete and will bend the rules and buck the trend set by the suppliers

Are we talking about the owner of Duke's or Goalie Heaven. Because the real owner of Duke's is amazing, but he has left the store to his a-hole of a son, who is running the place into the ground. A true no-class chump.

Duke's isn't what it used to be. The next generation ownership doesn't really appreciate good customer service.

The next generation at Duke's are completly void of any kind of customer service skills. They are all about passing the buck. This is what happens when you don't work your way up and actually deserve the position in life you have.

I have to agree with the guy 2 posts above. The new staff at Duke's don't have a clue, but I don't think there is any point in saying anything, just take your business to another store. No one is forcing you to go into their store to spend your money.

Went to the Goalie Crease the other day, walked out nobody in there helped.

The main guy was busy sharpening skates the other two didn't see us, we must have been inadvisable or something.

Been to Dukes and many other stores and I'm sorry Dukes is better than most. Whoever mentioned National Sports is smoking something strong since they hire 16 yr. olds who have no clue how to sharpen skates, product merchandise or customer service. As for product range, it's a National Sports for crying out loud so they don't carry most high-end lines or models and pricing is crap. Dukes or any smaller hockey focused store is a much better bet.

Two thoughts.

1. Zach at Dukes is top drawer. Get to know him and Kenny too. Good guys that care.

2. N54 - speak. To slag a hockey team, kid, parent on N54 is one thing. To trash a commercial business is something else. Be careful with this.

Zack at Duke's is clueless. Someone above mentioned it, but this is what happens when you are handed things and don't earn them.
