i don't think the x1/99 designation infers descendance - January 26 2005

more along the same lines as it's just a prototype code-name, of which
the X1/9 never shook....

thanks for clearing that up.

a nice prototype, sure, but i haven't seen anything that made me think
it had anything to do with the X1/9, and so haven't had much reason to
participate on this side of the forum.

a nice by-product however, is that independent of the X1/99 - or Flat
Punto with Stratos windshield as i lovingly refer to it - discussions
have heated up about resurrecting the incomparable X for a new
