... on your comparison of the scenarios, just out of idle curiosity, let's have a quick poll:

How many people here would be interested in the NEW X1/9 if it looked exactly like the sort of modernized Gandini you might dream of but was front engine front wheel drive?

Answer me that! HM?

Would THAT be a huge seller? Among X1/9 Enthusiasts?

(PS, you forgot, the new Beetle is also - gasp! - WATER cooled!! )
