Response to sequential numbering
why, then, wasn't the X1/9 ever given a "proper" name? It remained to be known as a "project" during it's entire run of production ? It must be true, about being the ugly step-sister in FIAT's line up. Kinda like that poor, poor animal the "wildebeest", undeserving of a real name, thus being relinquished to be known simply as a "wild beast". .
