An apology to ALL, but especially to TONY, BRETT, ASH, STEVE

Guys, I have a confession to make here, and I am sure this is already painfully obvious to pretty much all of you...
I've LOST MY FREKING MIND over this stupid forum!
This is retarded, no concept car is important enough for me to be freaking out on people here about speaking their minds, even if it is making "the mission" harder. Shit. I'm sorry guys
Moderation might have to be on if this forum really does go to Geneva, but I don't know whether that's really going to happen, have not heard yet. As for the rest, just say whatever you want!!
Man, all this backroom business about Fiat and this car and all these things I have not been able to discuss openly and all these people who I am concerned are watching, what the hell... I must be on crack!
Guys, SPEAK OPENLY. Say whatever you like.
And Tony, Steve, Ash, Brett, if you don't give a crap about this car, say so You have the right to your opinion just like anyone else should
THAT is what Xweb is SUPPOSED to be about
Sorry this swell of passion and enthusiasm for something new has gotten me off kilter lately, but I've just had my moment and I'm ok now
ahh, it's called passion.... ;)

Ok, here is an example...
VW brings out a concept car called the Beetle some years ago... It got RAVE reviews from the public, so much so that they put it into production (since it was based on an existing platform, it wasn't that hard to do).
NO, it wasn't anything CLOSE to the original car, ok, it somewhat looked like the original, but the engine wasn't in the same place, it wasn't a boxer engine, IT HAD HEAT, and it was safe... so... I wonder, how many people were dissing it before it went into production?!? It became a big seller!
So Mac, you're just showing how passionate you are about the X1/9, a certified X1/9 nut...
1978 Fiat X1/9 1500cc/4spd/daily driver
1982 Fiat X1/9 1500cc FI/Faza 35/75/weekender
1982 Fiat X1/9 1500cc dual 45/DCOE GT race car
1987 Volvo 760 GLE daily&winter beater
1987 Alfa Romeo Milano (Gold) sold,
yeah, key word "NUT", however...

... on your comparison of the scenarios, just out of idle curiosity, let's have a quick poll:
How many people here would be interested in the NEW X1/9 if it looked exactly like the sort of modernized Gandini you might dream of but was front engine front wheel drive?
Answer me that! HM?
Would THAT be a huge seller? Among X1/9 Enthusiasts?
(PS, you forgot, the new Beetle is also - gasp! - WATER cooled!! )
No one person....

....brings a product to market.
It is teamwork.
And as a team player it is time to
take a step back
take a step forward
take a step back

I hear ya, but that's not where I was coming from ...

... as I said on this topic in the DF, the ONLY thing that was really freaking me out was all these "WHO GIVES A RATS ASS?" comments. I'm not looking for some limelight or trying to be some figurehead, I don't want any of that, I just wanted to try to steer this place toward offering FIAT something more useful / helpful / encouraging than a forum full of "Ya know, I don't really care about this..." (...then why are you telling us? )
Fiat needs constructive input, whether "yes do this" OR "no don't do that", but believe me, FIAT does not need even one reminder that there is a world of people especially in North America who don't give a frog's flying fat ass about them or anything they are doing "today". I was just really desperate to be able to get the forum into the mode of offering some CONSTRUCTIVE comments, that's all, something tangible, "I WOULD CARE IF..." instead of "WHO CARES" you know?
It really doesn't matter though to me anymore, I've decided that it stopped becoming fun as soon as all those concerns overwhelmed me, and if it's not fun, it's not Xweb!!!!!!!!!!!
So there you have it, say whatever you want in here, for better or worse, and if so many people say they just could not give a crap less about it, then I guess that means it is a losing fight. Might as well let the people make that call.
