Anyone notice the rear lights?

March 11 2005 at 11:02 AM

The styling indicates that the concept vehicle has adequate air intake for the engine compartment (for a concept anyhow), this was pointed out earlier.

Did anyone notice the rear tail lights?

They seem to incorporate a 'vent' to expel hot air from a negative pressure zone directly in behind the vehicle.

This is interesting. Some of the pictures of the tail lights really show this with great detail.

As far as concepts go, this one is so close to what a production example could be like!

I think they did a great job, and despite what was said about FWD, this vehicle appears to be a Midship RWD. The rear section of the vehicle is quite large and tall, no need for all this space in a FWD car.

What do you gents make of these 'vents' right beside the tail lights?

Yes that seems correct

As Jean Paul mentioned downstream the concept mockup itself would appear to have been "conceived" as a mid-engine, although this means nothing of what a potential production version would end up...

Interestingly, we also now have a much clearer shot of the "targa" intake that Niklas also spotted in the earlier images:
