New York County Highpointing Team Goes to World Series (repost)

I know it gets tedious having to post the same information year after year after year after year.

But the Yankees are the only team to have a history of playing on a county highpoint. They originally played at Hilltop Park which was near Bennett Park, the New York County (Manhattan) highpoint. In fact the team was named "Highlanders" because they played at such lofty elevations. They were renamed the Yankees when they descended the hill to play at the Polo Grounds on the Harlem River (across the river from the present stadium location).

I posted more info on this last October.

And I guess I'll have to post it again next year.
