Response to Oregon's Squaw Mountain Renamed

This definition for squaw is the same one claimed in the Arizona arguments over mountain, creek, and street names. As far as I've heard, no one has been able to substantiate this claimed meaning. There are hundreds of words in the English language which could be taken in a vulgar way if one chose to do so. For example, why isn't anyone screaming to rename Arizona's Wet Beaver Creek, or Mt. Bangs, the highest mountain in the Virgin Mountains? And shouldn't women named Whitney take offense at the name "Mount Whitney"? Such silliness.
