A former Miss UK is preparing to represent her country again, only this time she will need more than a swimsuit in the sub-zero wilderness of the Arctic.
Della Draper, 40, is competing for Britain in a "survival-of-the-fittest" endurance challenge across 2,000 icy miles of northern Canada.
The blonde-haired mother-of-two will have to brave temperatures as low as minus 50C in the seven-day Fulda Challenge, which involves skiing, rally driving, ice climbing, dog sledging and Arctic snowshoe racing.
It is a far cry from 1982, when she was crowned Miss UK at a glittering ceremony in London and came runner-up for the title Miss World.
