Response to Speed Record: 28 slopes in 4 days

The group's plan calls for more
than 30 hours in a rented
Suburban, traveling almost
1,500 miles, and spending as
few minutes as possible at
each ski area but bagging
somewhere around 40,000
vertical feet of skiing. They
plan to spend only two nights
in hotels and one night hiking
to the top of Cuchara, the shuttered ski operation outside La Veta.
Rest will be found on the road.
