I did Borah on the 20th. When we got to COR, one member of our party "Chickened out." After reaching the summit and resting for about 20 minutes, we were all shocked to see him reach the summit. He said that he met an old guy that had climbed Borah several times and he took him on a route that almost totally bypassed the ridge. There are faint trails on both sides just below the ridge. If one knows where they are going, they can bypass the main ridge and use a faint trail almost all the way to the snow bridge. I climbed directly on top of the ridge and it was awesome! It was not difficult, but if exposure bothers you, this is not the place for you, as there is plenty of it here.
