Abseiling Fatality in National Geographic Action Asia Challenge

A participant from Hong Kong who fell during an abseiling event in the National Geographic Action Asia Challenge at the Bukit Larut quarry in Taiping died at the Ipoh Hospital on Tuesday, 10 days after the incident.

Poon Fu Hing, 39, a fireman, was a member of Hong Kong’s Protrek Challenge the Limit team.

He fell from a height of 70m and sustained head and internal injuries during the abseiling event on Oct 13.
