JAFFREY Three hikers walked to safety yesterday after spending the night lost in rain, wind and fog on Mount Monadnock.
The appearance of the three Massachusetts men just before 10 a.m. ended a night-long search by the state Fish and Game Department.
They were fine a little damp and windblown but otherwise they seemed in pretty good spirits, said Michael Bingham, assistant park manager.
It was a busy weekend for area rescue crews: earlier Sunday, rescuers helped two other hikers down from the mountain after they used a cell phone to call for help. Another man suffered a knee injury on nearby Temple Mountain.
