Helicopter Rescue of 2 on Mount Laguna, California

SAN DIEGO -- The crew of a sheriff's helicopter rescued two missing hikers during a nighttime operation in the area of Mount Laguna Thursday, authorities said.
The helicopter was sent to Mount Laguna at about 10:15 p.m. to assist rural enforcement deputies and park rangers in a search for two missing men, said San Diego County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Jim Keenan.

The helicopter crew located the missing hikers on the west face of Middle Peak as the men were walking into increasingly rugged terrain, Keenan said.
