Response to Shooting Someone

This time of year always has amazingly stupid reports of hunters shooting people. Check out the following searches (that's how I found the Adirondack Loj shooting):

Perhaps the most bizarre of the bunch:

BERLIN — Police are investigating what they describe as a “freak hunting accident” Sunday in which a man sitting in his living room watching football on television was shot in the head.
Edward Carroll, 59, remained in critical condition Monday at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.
He suffered what police described as “a single gunshot wound to the head” while watching a televised football game from a recliner in the living room of his mobile home.
Bell said police are asking anyone who was hunting in the vicinity of Airport Road in Berlin on Sunday afternoon to contact town police at 223-4401.
Anyone who noticed a hunter in the area at the time is also asked to call.
