Response to April 2003 Accidents/Rescues

ALPENTAL — The body of a 60-year-old Ellensburg man has been discovered near Snoqualmie Pass.
A hiker near Guye Peak found the body around 2 p.m. Sunday and called authorities from a cellphone.
"He had fallen what appears to be several hundred feet off a cliff," said King County sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Kevin Fagerstrom. "No one was with him; no one witnessed the incident."
Authorities do not think the death was a climbing accident because the victim was wearing street clothes. The man's car was in a nearby parking lot.
