A hiker on a steep trail overlooking Zion Canyon was airlifted from the park after he suffered a heart attack Wednesday.
Gary Blatter, 47, of Orem experienced chest and jaw pain while he was hiking with a group of Boy Scouts on Angel's Landing, a 2.5-mile hike that ascends 1,700 feet to a narrow plateau.
A visiting doctor from Colorado helped Blatter while they waited.
A helicopter from Grand Canyon National Park was dispatched because the Angel's Landing trail was too steep and narrow to safely remove Blatter.
