Search and rescue teams Sunday found what they believe is the body of a hiker who hadn't been heard from since he embarked on a wilderness trek more than two weeks ago.
The teams started looking Friday for Sean Michael Spinney, 23, of Lakewood, who was camping in the South San Juan Wilderness in Conejos County. The body was 200 yards from a campsite and believed to be Spinney's.
Spinney's mother dropped him off June 11 at a trailhead on Cumbres Pass. Family members said he was an experienced outdoorsman and climber and had two weeks of supplies. They began to worry when they hadn't heard from him.
