Response to Fire Temporarily Closes I-40 at Flagstaff as Arizona Burns Again


Fire crews delayed a controlled burn scheduled for this morning in the Ventana Canyon area - where residents were asked to evacuate - because higher humidity slowed the Aspen fire's growth.

More than 200 area residents and guests at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, were asked yesterday to leave because the burnout operation was expected to bring flames within a quarter-mile of homes.
