Schwartzenegger libeled by a tabloid after successful heart surgery

Schwartzenegger underwent successful surgery in April, 1997 to repair a defective heart valve. A year later, The Globe tabloid printed a story that said that Schwartzenegger was in ill health and in danger of a heart attack. Schwartzenegger filed a $50 million libel lawsuit against the tabloid, which was settled when The Globe agreed to donate an undisclosed sum of money to SchwarzeneggerÂ’s charity, the Inner City Games Foundation.
