Kansas Hikes

Response to Alaska, Rhode Island, and more

Yanker & Tarkov, `America's Greatest Walks' (New York: Walking World, PB, 1986) steered me to Kanopolis State Park, Kansas which offered a nice hike through a little gorge, worth the admission charge. I also enjoyed Monument Rocks, walking around them--climbing them was a bit too dodgy. Said pocket guide also sent me to Wyalusing State Park in Wisconsin; it was excellent despite the stiff admission charge (of course, my new Golden Age Passport was no good). Made these stops on the way to the convention in Galena & back.
