Shame on me if I shouldn't post this twice, but some may have missed it if viewing this forum over the last three days. Unless I get a call from Ranger Doug of what day(s) the HP is to be closed, this is my final post unless I'm updated when the burn is to take place or access has resumed.

Mark,
Just to keep you posted the USFS and State Parks are going to be burning the Signal Hill area the week of February 8th. We will have to close access to the
area the day of the burn and maybe the next for safety. It should not affect the access of the highpoint for more than a couple of days. This is to reduce the chances of a wildflre later on and to remove several years of leaf liter and debris on the ground. We are planning the burn the south side of the area the next week to help protect the Lodge area. Ground breaking (for the NEW 60-room lodge, less than a mile from the highpoint, with an awesome view into Yell County) is set for sometime the first part of March. There's no firm date as of yet. I'll keep you posted when I find out.

P.S.,
As of this posting, I've still not received a firm date as to when the burn will take place. You should contact the park in advance @ 479-963-8502 if planning travel to the AR HP during that time for the latest info!
