Summer Solstice Highpointing Madness in New England

I thought I would share a couple of stories from our New England hiking bulletin boards:

1. Two guys drove to Baxter, stayed at Roaring Brook, and started up Katahdin at 12:15 AM, then drove to Pinkham and bagged Washington (up and down Tucks, on foot) the same day, finally drove home by 11 PM. Sunrise, sunset ...Katahdin and Washington in a day.

2. Another group did Frissell (CT), Greylock, Mansfield, & almost Washington, hiking up Greylock and Mansfield and going a bit beyond Lakes Hut on Washington before turning around (bad weather plus bad knee).

Note that the weather is New England was very bad on Saturday, moderately better on Sunday morning, only clearing in the afternoon.
