Jack's Last Wish Has Been Completed

It's done! On Sunday afternoon, August 8, 2004, Jack Longacre's ashes were spread on the snowfield at the top of Gannett Peak, Wyoming, completing his Last Wish to have his ashes spread on the 50 state highpoints. Jack provided fabulous weather for the climbers: no wind, clear skies, and lovely temperatures for perfect climbing conditions. Rick Hartmann and I will be providing a climbing report in the next several days. Congratulations and many thanks to Jean Trousdale, who was with us at high camp (and on the top in spirit), and who organized and guided this entire effort. Rest in peace on the tops of your beloved peaks, Jack. JES
