VANCOUVER - Picket lines have gone up at 14 national parks and historic sites across B.C. on Monday, as part of the rotating job action by Parks Canada staff.
Union spokesperson Patty Ducharme says the pickets lines are expected to keep some people from going to the parks.
"I expect that there will be quite a few people who won't actually decide to go into the parks where there are picket lines up," she says.
"Our members will be talking to the members of the public about this dispute, looking for their support and asking them to contact their municipal government, and their Members of Parliament as well."
The B.C. workers are expected to be back on the job on Tuesday.
The main stumbling block in the dispute is wages.
