A rock climber was in critical but stable condition Monday morning after a harrowing ordeal at Crowders Mountain State Park.
Gaston County paramedics say Dawn Bramson, 29, fell at least 60 feet during a climb Sunday, breaking bones in both legs.
It took rescuers nearly three hours to climb the mountain to get Bramson, who was going into shock before she was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center.
Officials said the spot where Bramson fell was at least 30 yards off the marked path.
