Response to July 2005 Accidents

The Houston Chronicle reports a woman fell 100 feet while attempting to cross from McKelligon Canyon Park to the Franklin Mountains by El Paso.

“It doesn’t appear the victim was wearing the proper hiking attire for this extremely difficult hike,” said Rick Glancey, sheriff’s office spokesman. “The Ron Coleman Trail varies from moderate to extremely difficult. The victim was found in an area described by the rescue team as an extremely difficult.”
