Thom Davis writes:
For anyone interested in the Presidential Range hike on Friday, 2 September, please arrive at the Appalachia parking lot on Rt. 2 about 8 miles W of Gorham, NH, at 4 am, so that we can take a couple of hours to spot cars at the Cog RR base (for those who wish to hike only the northern 3 or 4 peaks) and Crawford Notch (for those who wish to hike the entire range). The full range hike could take anywhere from 10 to 15 or more hours, so it is unlikely you will get back to Purity Spring Resort in time for the Ice Cream Social and Brian Fowler’s “Old Man” talk, unless you are a speedy hiker.
