Response to Driskill Mt this week

In addition to such well-known mountaineering hazards as avalanches, landslides, falls, blizzards, whiteouts, lightning, hypothermia, and frostbite, we can add hurricanes to the list of hazards that mountaineers may encounter when ascending state highpoints. It appears that several state highpoints, such as Driskill Mountain of Louisiana and Woodall Mountain of Mississippi, are in the direct path of Hurricane Katrina. See the weather forecasts for Arcadia, LA (closest city to Driskill Mountain) and Tupelo, MS (closest city to Woodall Mountain).
