Your list is specific, progressive, comprehensive
thank you, Dick.
Obviously there will differing opinions, so it is nearly impossible to set a standard code. Some konventions will be pricey or require travel; some will be cheap and on top of the HP.
Judging by the good turnout, the hosts are doing a great job.
It is difficult to direct a volunteer doing the work, as they hold the Ace card: "do it yourself then." Typically, those who volunteer call the shots.
A host who set Christmas day for the banquet and charges $90 for limited seating of 75, could be asked to change, but those asking for the change may be faced with finding a new host. It seems that in this Club we don't have a shortage of volunteers. It is a power balance between the volunteer doing the work and the members who have their preferences. We are fortunate to have an expert like Nikki to bridge that gap.
The best solution is to mix up the type of conventions we hold, so that all types of interests are met over time. As a host, I know it is a challenge to ensure the basic needs are met for 300 people.
