PRESCOTT, AZ - A prescribed burn about 10 miles south of
Prescott went out of control Tuesday, causing the U.S. Forest Service to declare it a wildfire.
"It's burning too hot,"
Prescott National Forest Fire Management Officer Curtis Heaton said. "It's just not March conditions. It should not be carrying through these fuels in March.
"I'd say this is a wake-up call for all of us that the fire season is here."
