Response to February 2009 Accidents/Rescues

The Iridium satellite phone "constellation" is down by one more unit after a defunct Russian communications satellite collided with one of the Iridium satellites. More details in this article.

Although Iridium says the loss of this one satellite won't materially affect their service, it points out our dependency on the high frontier if we expect our satellite phones to work.

It's crowded up safely!
