The highpoint is owned by Ed Harold's sister, Rae Marie Jones of Big Fork, MT. Ed manages the land, and his phone's voice message says, "Sorry we can't answer right now because we're out climbing Mt. Sunflower."
The summit mailbox is need of repair (hint hint HPF).
In 1961, the US Geological Survey designated Mt. Sunflower as the state HP. A brass plate to the northeast had previously been thought to be the HP, but during the state's centennial, they reviewed the topo maps and discovered Sunflower.
