Response to Has anyone done all the Highpoints in Winter ?

Dave Johnston of Talkeetna, Alaska, is attempting that feat. He has done 48 and is missing two insignificant ones like Delaware and Florida. He was part of the first party to ascend Mount McKinley in the winter. Read Art Davidson's Minus 148 for more details. As a result of that climb, Dave is missing some toes, too.

Incidentally, Dave was the partner of Vin Hoeman when both first climbed Mount McKinley. Hoeman is credited with being the first to reach the 50 state highpoints.
